Sandy Hawley Park

Sandy Hawley Park is a cute barn themed playground in North Oshawa. The playground features a play structure that looks like a big red barn with two slides, stairs and various climbing features. There are also some cute bouncers, teeter-totters, spinners and an inclusive swing. Beside the playground there is a small splash pad and pathway through the trees that leads to another great playground!

Kingside Park

Kingside Park is a new playground in Oshawa. It features two climbing structures with a treehouse theme. The larger structure has a rock wall, climbing web and twisty slide. The smaller structure can be accessed by an accessible ramp that leads straight from the paved path. There is also a smaller slide for toddlers. The playground also includes several spinners and swings.

Pinecrest Park

Pinecrest Park is another brand new playground in Oshawa. This playground has a cute forest theme and is very popular! Pinecrest Park features two play structures joined together by a bridge. There are two slides and a variety of climbing features, including several climbing poles that look like trees! My kids’ two favourite features at this park were the teeter totter and the preschooler-height monkey bars. The monkey bars were the perfect height for my 5 year old to practice – low enough so she didn’t feel scared to fall and high that she couldn’t touch the ground! Beside the playground there is also a small splash pad.

Lakeview Park

Lakeview Park is definitely the most epic and well-known park in Durham Region. The playground features a huge climbing structure with a tall tube slide. There are also ziplines, a variety of swings (saucer, inclusive, tandem, etc) and an accessible area with ramps and accessible flooring. The accessible area has a smaller play structure that is great for toddlers. We also love the large climbing web that connects to its own separate slide. The playground is located beside the beach, a splash pad and a concession stand!
