If you’re looking for a super fun spot to swim with your kids, look no further. We’ve gathered a list of the BEST indoor swimming pools for kids in Calgary. These aren’t your standard pools. The pools on our list all have special features like water parks, slides and spray features, that make them especially fun for families. And as always, we have personally tried and tested each of these swimming pools and found that the three kids in our family LOVED them! So here we go… I give you our favourite places to swim with kids in (and near) to Calgary, AB!

Brookfield Residential YMCA at Seton, Calgary Southeast
The Seton YMCA aquatic facility, which opened in 2019, is beautiful and absolutely jam-packed with features for all ages and abilities. Family-friendly features at the Seton YMCA, include:
💦 Super fun toddler play structure with 2 toddler slides & spray features
💦 Shallow splash pool surrounding the play structure
💦 Lazy river with more spray features
💦 Two large water slides (one is ridden on an inner tube)
💦 Flowrider (surf simulator)
💦 Large lane-swim pool

Shane Homes YMCA at Rocky Ridge, Calgary Northwest
The Rocky Ridge is another beautiful new facility that has tons of super fun aquatic features for all ages and abilities. Family-friendly features at the Rocky Ridge YMCA, include:

💦 Play structure with smaller slides & tons of spray features for little ones
💦 Beach style entry into a wave pool
💦 Waves are cycled 20 minutes on & 20 minutes off

Just like the Seton YMCA, you can check the capacity of this pool ahead of time by visiting the Calgary YMCA website. And we do recommend checking, especially on weekends, as it does get very busy!
Village Square Leisure Centre, Calgary Northeast
Village Square Leisure Centre is home to an amazing indoor waterpark right in Calgary! The most exciting part of the pool is the Thunder Run waterslide, which is 6 stories high and actually goes outside of the building! We love that even smaller children can enjoy the large waterslides at this facility by riding with a grown up. Here are some other features that you can expect to find when visiting Village Square Leisure Centre:

💦 Several water slides that are all different sizes, ranging from a toddler slide to huge slides several stories tall!!

Southland Leisure Centre, Calgary Southwest
Southland Leisure Centre is another City of Calgary waterpark and wave pool that is quite similar to the Village Square Leisure Centre. Our favourite features at Southland Leisure Centre, include:

💦 Interactive water cannons and water features that kids can control with steering wheels
💦 Giant tipping bucket
💦 Two small-medium slides great for preschoolers (approx 3-7 yo) to ride independently
💦 Two larger water slides (children under 8 must ride with an adult)

💦 Small splash pool for infants and toddlers
💦 Steam sauna
Genesis Place, Airdrie
If you’re looking for a place to swim with your toddlers, or kids who are non-swimmers, Genesis Place in Airdrie is a great choice. Some of the features that make it great for little kids, include:
💦 Large, shallow toddler pool with spray features
💦 Easy for adults & slightly older kids to touch for about half of the large leisure pool (1m depth)
💦 Little splash pool with fountains for the tiniest swimmers

Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre, Cochrane
The swimming pool and waterslides at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre is located in Cochrane, approximately 30 minutes northwest of downtown Calgary.
