The Greater Vancouver Area has been blessed with many amazing outdoor pools and waterparks for kids. If you’re looking for a great family friendly spot to swim this summer, check out our list of these 6 amazing locations!
New Brighton Outdoor Pool, Vancouver
New Brighton Pool is a great swimming spot for young families. Toddlers & small children will love the beach style entry and small toddler slide. Older children will enjoy the bigger slide located in the deeper part of the pool. And parents will love the stunning views of the North Shore mountains! There is also a concession stand, small playground and paved walking trails alongside the pool, making New Brighton Pool & Park a fantastic spot to spend a day out with the kids!

Maple Grove Outdoor Pool, Vancouver
Maple Grove Pool is our top choice for swimming with toddlers & young kids in Vancouver. The beach style entry & shallow depth throughout the pool make it a breeze for parents to care for toddlers. The ‘beach’ area has a few small fountains for little ones to splash in. There is also an island that is a ton of fun for kids to jump off! Surrounding the pool is a beautiful grassy area that is perfect for a little picnic. Beside the swimming pool, within Maple Grove Park, there is also an old, but still amazingly fun, playground to check out before or after your swim!
Location: 6875 Yew St, Vancouver, BC V6P 5W2

South Arm Outdoor Pool, Richmond
South Arm Pool in Richmond is a little gem for families that is much less popular than the bigger pools located within the City of Vancouver, but still just as exciting and fun (maybe even more-so)! There is a small wading pool with one spray feature for the littlest splashers.
The main pool boasts warm water & is shallow almost all the way throughout. There is one small deeper area, which makes a fun spot for kids to practice their cannon balls! Possibly the most exciting part of this pool for older kids is the 2 large water slides! Children must be at least 7 years old and 48 inches tall to ride.
Beside the pool there is also a fantastic, creative playground for kids, complete with a stone castle, swings & fabulous toddler area!
Location: 10100 S Arm Pl, Richmond, BC V7A 2E1

Otter Co-op Outdoor Experience, Aldergrove
The Otter Co-op Outdoor Experience is an amazing waterpark that is attached to the Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre. This waterpark is about 1 hour outside of Vancouver and is a low cost alternative to some of the other water parks in BC. It’s also full of soooo many fun and amazing things for little (& big) water lovers!
There are water slides for riders of all ages – baby slides in the shallow leisure pool, several toddler/little kid slides attached to the large water playground and three bigger slides for older/taller riders. The water playground also has a huge tipping bucket and many interactive spray features for kids of all ages.
Other incredible features within the waterpark, include a wave pool, lazy river, hot tub & leisure pool with diving boards! If you’re feeling hungry, there’s a Triple O’s food truck located right within the park. And on top of all of that… just outside the park is an absolutely incredible playground!
Location: 27032 Fraser Hwy, Aldergrove, BC V4W 3P6

Bridal Falls Waterpark, Fraser Valley
Bridal Falls Waterpark is located about 1.5 hours outside of Vancouver and is an amazing spot for anyone who loves to ride waterslides!!
For the littlest tots, there are two small splash pools with a cute whale tunnel & small slide built into the mouth of a pelican. There are also three gentle slides located in the kiddie area, where parents are able to ride with children in their laps!
Once children reach 42 inches tall, they can access 8 longer slides. Lennon, our 6 year old who is comfortable in the water & just beginning to swim independently, was able to manage these slides no problem.
Once children hit 48 inches tall they can access the more intense ‘River Rapids’ slide.
Other great things to love about this waterpark include heated water, a concession stand, lots of tents & trees available for shade & plenty of picnic tables. There are no swimming pools within the park, BUT there is one large hot tub for those who want a timeout from riding the slides.
Location: 53790 Popkum Rd S, Rosedale, BC V0X 1X1

Big Splash Water Slide Park, Tsawwassen
Big Splash is the closest waterpark to Vancouver, at just a short 30 minute drive south of the city. This park has something for everyone. There is a great area for little kids with 5 gentle slides and a splash pad. There are many larger slides for older kids & adults (children must be at least 48 inches to ride most of the slides outside of the kiddie area). Probably the most exciting of these slides is the Boomerango, which is a tube slide that sends you 40 feet up a vertical ramp! Aside from the waterslides, there is also a swimming pool and hot tub for families to enjoy.
Location: 4775 NuLelum Way, Tsawwassen, BC V4M 4G9
